Holiday Training Programme

Hi all,
Here is the draft training programme for the holidays. You will receive information specific to each day at training, however these are the dates that you will need to keep free.

10th of October
This is for the 10 students that have been selected for the Get 2 Go competition. You will be going out to pack lime for a fundraising project.

11th-12th of October
This is an overnight multisport race that will be taking place at Whangarei Heads. It starts at Harambee Rd where you will need to be dropped off and finishes on the Wednesday at Taurakura Bay, where your parents will pick you up. I need to know who can make this training so that I can sort groups, accomidation, instructors, extra. Please tell me by Monday 3rd of October.
I am also hoping that we can have a BBQ at my house on the Wednesday.

15th of October
This is a 6 hour rogaine/multi sport event held somewhere near wellsford. Permission slips and letters have been sent home and need to be returned to school by the 4th of October. You need to organise a Mt bike, life jacket, and car inner tube. Please be organised and get all your gear sorted. Contact me if you are having issues with locating some of the gear.

18th to the 20th of October
There is an OPC instructor coming up to Whangarei, who will be taking a group of 8-10 students for Navigation. You will be away for two nights at a cost of $50.00 per person. This will be for people who are interested in being that navigator in the team, if you would like to go you need to tell Jonesy at trainning by Wednesday the 5th of October.

29th of October
Fundraising for Get 2 Go team 10am-2pm at Whangarei Primary School.

30th of October
This is a Whangarei Orienteering Event at Smugglers Bay. You will recieve more information about this event on Tuesday 25th of October. But it will be the standard $4.00 per person, start at 10am. This will be the last event for a month or so, it would be good to get everyone there.

Sunday 25th Rogaine Event has been POSTPONED

I have just recieved this message. I have booked the van for the following weekend. Please get in touch with me if you cannot make it. Otherwise I will assume that everyone can still come.
LACTIC TURKEY ROGAINE AT PEAK ROAD POSTPONED

Sorry but we have just found out (when I arrived this morning to mark the course) that we will have to postpone the Lactic Turkey Rogaine to next Sunday (2 October) due to a wounded wild bull running around the farm.  Sounds like a good fib but it's for real sorry!

The farmer has been trying to destroy this feral bull but as of this morning still couldn’t find it. Because the bull is now wounded it is unpredictable so the risk of this bull charging someone is too great and the farmer has asked we postpone the event until next Sunday.

Lactic Turkey do not charge like wounded bulls and the last thing we want is for a wounded bull to charge you! (drums...da dommmm!)
