ATTENTION-*** ORIENTEERING COACHING EVENING***

Just to let you know about the up coming coaching evening.

When: Thursday 14th April 2011

Center, do not go in main gym doors, it is at the NORTH END of the building)

It will be a fantastic opportunity to learn the basics of Orienteering
from an elite Orienteer. We are lucky to have Tom Reynolds up here for a
few months, who besides his many other sporting interests is in the NZ
male elite orienteering team.( If you would like to read more about Tom
check out his website on )http://thomasreynolds.wordpress.com/ )
We plan to build on this session with a practical demonstration out in
the field to be held at a certain time on the Sunday Barge Park event-
17th April.

If you are interested please email me so we can get an idea of numbers
for printing etc.

A calender of the Winter events will be posted also on the orienteering
website http://www.sportsground.co.nz/ClubSite.asp?SiteID=17609

There is also a link to the NWOC site, so for those who are keen to
extend their orienteering and happy to travel to Auckland ,there are
plenty of great options there .

Also , I know we get a lot of emails from all over the place, so if you
are on our email list and no longer would like to receive further
updates please let me know and that can be easily rectified.

Kind Regards

Anna

ARC Whangamata

Well what a weekend, fabulous weather, new event, and some great results made it all the more worthwhile for the long drive to Whangamata. We had three teams competing in what was to be record numbers for ARC's 12 year history.
The teams and their results were as follows:
WARTS 1: Mark Davies Collie and Arnon Sharpe: 1st Place out of 5 Teams
WARTS 2: James Edwards, Phil Kim, and Robert Francis: 1st Place out of 9 Teams
WARTS 3: Grace Miller, Kayla Gentil, and Rebecca Laws: 5th Place out of 9 Teams
Well done to all teams on their fantastic results. 2011 is going to be a great year with a start like this.
