Training This Weekend (4th of August)

Hi Team,
This weekend we will be heading to Huanui College for a rogaine. Please be there at 9.30 so that I can get you into teams. Cost will be $3.00 per person. Please bring a thermal, fleece, water, running shoes, snacks, and personal medication. It is really important that you come to this event, as it will be good training for other events.

Once we have finished at Huanui at 11am, we will head down to Mains Rd, off vinegar hill rd. YOU MUST BRING A REFLECTIVE VEST!!!!!!!! This training will finish at 1pm. We are able to transport students, but you need to let me know when you arrive at huanui that you require a ride.

This is for seniors and juniors.

Orienteering

Hey Team,
Here is the next Whangarei Orienteering Club event. It would really be worthwhile attending this, espically for Juniors.

NEXT EVENT :Sunday 4th August, Huanui
ROGAINE EVENT
WHEN: Registration from 9.30am. As this is a Rogaine, maps will be given out at 9:50am and there
will be a mass start at 10am  . The event will run for an hour.
WHERE: Meet at Huanui College, Ngunguru Rd. Look out for orange /white signs. This event will
be a combination of farm and forest navigation. There will be courses to suit everyone.
BRING: comfortable clothing and shoes, compass ,whistle and importantly a WATCH.
COST PER MAP: students $7, Adults $10  per map.

Junior Adventure Racing:

As part of our preparation for the Regional Get2Go Challenge on the 13th of August, I will be holding trainings in the holidays. These trainings will run for 3 hours at a time and will cover a variety of skills. It will be important that students check the blog page for gear requirements.   www.warts2warts.blogspot.com.

The dates and locations are as follows:
Friday 19th July:  MTB and orienteering training.  Meet at the end of Mains Rd, which is off Vinegar Hill Rd.  Students will be required to meet at 8.30am and will finish at 11.30am.  If they do not own a bike they can still attend.  Please make sure that you bring everything that is on the gear list.
Monday 22nd July:  Kayaking at Waro Limestone Scenic Reserve in Hikurangi.  We will meet there at 12.30pm and will finish at 3.30pm. This will be the first of two kayak trainings, so it is important that students get to either this one or one that will be on the 4th of August.
Tuesday 23rd July:  Problem solving at Whangarei Girls’ High School.  Meet at the gym at 8.30am to 11.30am. This day will involve a variety of activities and will be based mainly at school but also at Mair Park.

All training will go ahead no matter what the weather, however please check the blog on the morning of the training for more information.  If there are any changes they will be on the blog by 7am.

Gear List:
Friday: MTB, repair kit, pump, helmet, raincoat, water, snack food, personal medication, running shoes, pencil, thermal top, warm hat, and a bag to carry it all in.

Monday: Change of clothes, towel, fleece top, thermal pants and top, wool hat, gloves, water, snack food, rain coat, running shoes, personal medication.

Tuesday: Thermal top, rain coat, running shoes, clothes for exercising in, water, snack food, personal medication.

Orienteering this weekend

REMINDER-Night Event Saturday 13th July,Mair Park

Run on the Mair Park Map several times?- come and try it out in the dark!! 
Registration will start from 530pm in Rurmoki St. There wil  be a mass start at 6pm.The event will run for an hour. 
Important- bring watch, light source( torch/headlight), whistle. 
See you there. 
$7 for students $10 for adults

MTB Barge Park

Hey guys and gals,
This Saturday 6th of July at Barge Park is a MTB event. Starts at 2.30 and costs $5. Parents and children are more than welcome to enter as well. Get there early for registration at 2pm. It will take around an hour to complete, plus sausage sizzle at the end. I will not be there, but it was a blast last time at Glenbervie, so I really encourage all juniors to get along and give it a go.
