MTB

Hey Team,
After last weekend I felt that there was a lot of feedback regarding MTB and wanting more confidence etc. So on Saturday this weekend I thought it would be nice to head out to Glenbervie for a ride and some basic bike mechanics. I am thinking at this stage that we would meet at 8am and go for a couple of hours. Meet at the ropes course car park. I would reccomend this for anyone wanting to build confidence. Please send me a text if you are keen. You will need to source your own bike as I will be riding mine.

Multi Sport Race

Hey Gals and Guys,
So this Saturday we will be running the multi sport race. I imagine that it would be a good idea to be out there around 7-7.15 as race briefing is at 7.45am. I will post the team lists on Thursday night. Please make sure that you organise a parent to be your support crew and that all your gear is sorted. If you need to borrow a pack or anything please come and see me before Friday. We will have some water out there but make sure you fill your bottle before you come out. This race is for anyone from year 10-13.

Compulsory individual gear:
A well serviced mountain bike & helmet, sturdy cross trainers/shoes, a towel & togs, a race pack with enough snacks for the morning, a thermal top & bottoms, fleece jumper, a sunhat, a woollen hat & gloves, plenty of fluid, a torch and a whistle.  Oooh yes, of course a strong set of lungs!
All teams will be given a first aid kit at the race briefing and maps.

Up and Coming Events

Hi Team,
There is alot going on for Junior and Senior Adventure Racers over the next few months. Please have a read through and if your keen for any or all of whats listed then get in touch. Some are strictly for just seniors, however not all are.

24th March: We will be running a Multi sport race out at Whangarei Heads on the Saturday Morning. We would like to have as many adventure racers as possible, you will be racing in teams of four. This will be good training, but also a chance to race against the seniors as they prepare for Hillary. You will need 1 bike per person at this stage, so get organised. The event will be made up of a trek, mt bike, and kayak. It is also a fantastic opportunity for your parents to come out and see you in action. It will start at 9am and finish around 1pm. Seniors are expected to be there and anyone else is a bonus.

18th-21st of April: This is for Seniors only. We will be heading down to Tongariro National Park for Nav Practice. Callum will be joining us. It is expected that the Hillary tem will be in its final stages and that all of the team should attend, this is espically the case if you are interested in being the Navigator. The terrain in National Park is like nothing that we have up here, and familiarity with the area is really important. The cost for this trip is still being discussed but it will not be over $80. We will leave Wednesday Arvo and come back Saturday night. Please make sure that you discuss this with your family.
