Hillary Challenge

Congratulations to the 2012 Hillary Team!!! a well deserved 3rd place, our best placing at Hillary since joining forces 6 years ago. You were supportive of each other and showed the other schools what the WARTS are all about. Everyone is extremely proud of what you achieved and I hope you take time to reflect on your personal performance over the week. Here are some of the photos, some you will notice are rather dark, that is mainly because the sky was consistently grey, if not charcoal. Enjoy the moment WARTS!

Change in Placing!!!!!!!

After a look over by Darren the points have changed and we are now in 2nd Place!!!! The kids are out in the bush and have no idea yet but we are so excited for them and can't wait to see them tonight and give them the good news.  They camped just down from Whakapapa ski village on theother side of rd 47. They are in a good position with middleton grange, naki, and opunake.
GO WARTS

WARTS WARTS WARTS!!!!
WEll after two days of problem solving we are sitting in 3rd place behind Opunake and Naki. There is nothing in it, and as we said goodbye to the team this morning, the clouds were starting to move and we finally saw the sky for the first time in two days!!!!! Snow down to 600 m so all teams have to sleep under bush cover tonight. The team is looking strong and are ready for the next few days. Nav is all up around Whakapapa ski village/Tongariro and around OPC. They have done so well and we are extremely proud of their efforts.

Go Warts.

Hi Team,
There is a duathalon this weekend at glenbervie forest. I think it would be wicked opportunity for year 9-11 to go along and start getting ready for the bigger events later on in the year.

Duathlon + MTB or Road bike -Glenbervie Forest HQ

To kick off our Winter duathlon season we have a Duathlon from Glenbervie Forest HQ on Sunday 20th May. 0830 registration, 0900 start.
There will be the classic off road duathlon -short or long , with a very short course option suitable for younger children (all on forest trails),
There will also be a road bike option (age 13 upwards).
Sausage sizzle and a drink afterwards.
To get to Glenbervie Forest HQ head out along Ngunguru road and turn off at Maruata Road (where the Huanui Orchard Shop is) Go right to the end of the road and through the gates to the forest headquarters.
Our full winter duathlon programme will be out very soon with lots of fun and/or competitive events -even some triathlon options for the stoic athletes among us!

Hillary Extra Training

Hi Team,
We had a good session last week for the skit. I am thinking that Tuesday after school for an hour would be good. You should contact Eloise if you want to know what your part involves. Be proactive and come prepared. If Tuesday after school is no good send me a text. Liv
