As part of our
preparation for the Regional Get2Go Challenge on the 13th of August,
I will be holding trainings in the holidays. These trainings will run for 3
hours at a time and will cover a variety of skills. It will be important that
students check the blog page for gear requirements. www.warts2warts.blogspot.com.
The
dates and locations are as follows:
Friday
19th July:
MTB and orienteering training. Meet at the end of Mains Rd, which is off
Vinegar Hill Rd. Students will be
required to meet at 8.30am and will finish at 11.30am. If they do not own a bike they can still
attend. Please make sure that you bring
everything that is on the gear list.
Monday
22nd July:
Kayaking at Waro Limestone Scenic
Reserve in Hikurangi. We will meet there
at 12.30pm and will finish at 3.30pm. This will be the first of two kayak
trainings, so it is important that students get to either this one or one that
will be on the 4th of August.
Tuesday
23rd July:
Problem solving at Whangarei Girls’ High
School. Meet at the gym at 8.30am to
11.30am. This day will involve a variety of activities and will be based mainly
at school but also at Mair Park.
All training will go
ahead no matter what the weather, however please check the blog on the morning
of the training for more information. If
there are any changes they will be on the blog by 7am.
Gear List:
Friday: MTB, repair kit, pump, helmet, raincoat, water, snack food, personal medication, running shoes, pencil, thermal top, warm hat, and a bag to carry it all in.
Monday: Change of clothes, towel, fleece top, thermal pants and top, wool hat, gloves, water, snack food, rain coat, running shoes, personal medication.
Tuesday: Thermal top, rain coat, running shoes, clothes for exercising in, water, snack food, personal medication.
