Team presentation

2013 Genesis Energy
Secondary Schools Hillary Challenge
TEAM PRESENTATION
(MONDAY NIGHT)
As part of the challenge event each team is required to give a presentation. The topic is
detailed in the box on the following page. The presentation will last no more than 5 minutes
and may be presented in any format, using any means of communication, through any
medium. You have one extra minute for preparations or set up time.
The presentation will be scored by a panel of 5 judges, made up of OPC management staff,
trustees and sponsors under the following criteria - originality, information, group involvement,
inspiration and entertainment. Presentations with elements of live performance will receive a
higher point score over media presentations alone.
To make the transition between presentations fast and efficient please bring any multi-media
presentations on either a USB memory stick or DVD to be used on our computer. You will need
to ensure any music or sound components are embedded in the file (and not stored
somewhere else on your computer) to ensure they play. We also recommend a back-up
copy of any music to be used on CD. We have a data projector, laptop, DVD player and a
stereo available for your use.

Topic
Trends indicate that New Zealand’s population is becoming increasingly
inactive and obese.
2012 research from The University of Auckland puts the cost of overweight
and obesity in New Zealand between NZ$722 million and NZ$849 million a
year in health care costs and lost productivity.
In New Zealand an estimated 35 percent of the population aged over 15 are
overweight, while 25.4 percent are obese.
Your team has a job to come up with an original,
creative presentation, designed to inspire young
people to get into the great outdoors as a way of
helping to encourage healthy lifestyle change.
