ARC

Hi Team,
So last week we had a meeting to discuss ARC. If you are wanting to attend then you need to have gotten yourself into a group of two or four. You need to go into the girls high office and pick up a letter, and get it back to girls high by the end of the week (this is for boys and girls), if you have not returned your forms and money to the girls high office by the 4th of feb, then you will not be able to come. Also you need to be realistic, if you have not kept up any running over the holidays then you will not enjoy this event as it can be anywhere between 6-12 hours long.
I am out at camp all week, however I still have cell phone reception so please give me a call if you need something. You should be checking the ARC website and reading through all the information. I will do all the entries for you.

New Year Events!

Hey Guys and Gals,
Happy new year and all that jazz, I hope that you have been taking care of yourselves. Look we really need to get together at the beginning of next week to discuss a few of the up and coming events and training's that we have planned in the next month.
I am thinking that it will have to be after work, so maybe 5pm on either Monday or Tuesday night. It would be good to have your parents there. This is for all Adventure Racers who are keen to go to ARC, which is on the 16th and 17th of February  You need to have kept up your fitness over the holidays, otherwise it will be too hard.
I will post tomorrow as to the venue and day.

Seniors you will be finding out about the training at National Park so you really need to be there.

Senior WARTS

Hey Seniors,
Have had a two day rest and would love for us all to catch up before you go away for xmas. I know that some of you may have left already, but was thinking about going for a mountain bike ride in Glenbervie on either Tuesday or Wednesday this week. If you are keen, could you send me a text as to the day and time that would work for you. If its a no go then still text me so that I have your numbers as there will be training over the holidays. Girls you should all be a boot camp on Tuesday morning 9.30am (boys you will just have to hold your own). Please keep 25th,26th,27th of Jan free, I am booking you in. Also ARC is the 16th and 17th of Feb, cost will be around $185-$200 so make sure you save up and keep super fit over the holidays(ARC will be for Juniors and Seniors).

Get2Go Final

Well what a week, in the last 5 days the Get2Go team has spent time kayaking, climbing, paddle boarding, sailing, rafting, orienteering, carrying, lifting, and running, as they compete in the Youthtown Get2Go Grand Final. It has been stated that this was the most physically demanding competition ever run on great barrier island, and in my 3 years of attending the event, it was clearly a step up from last year, with a 30km run and 6km Kayak, and that was just the last day. A huge thanks to the team at OPC that helped make it all happen and to all the supporters who have helped encourage our team.
The real congratulations goes to the 8 individuals who faced testing times and still continued to show what WARTS are all about; being supportive to your team mates, enjoying the outdoors and, going hard out to perform to the best of our ability. I am so thrilled for all that you achieved and the passion you showed over the week.

Here are some photos of the team in action. I hope you enjoy them.

Get2Go IS HERE

Well its time to head off to Great Barrier Island to compete in the Get2Go Grand Final. This would not be possible without all the support from parents and friends, and the larger junior squad. You guys have put in the hard yards and I am so proud of everything you have achieved in the lead up to this event. Please keep and eye on the OPC facebook page for updates, http://www.facebook.com/opcnz.

To the team going to Great Barrier, remember to get lots of sleep tonight, as you won't be getting alot for the next wee while. See you tomorrow morning!!!!

GO WARTS!
